Moving Forward With God’s Instruction

I can see myself moving forward in every part of my life. My thoughts are clearer, my mind is more focused, and I’m working toward becoming a better version of myself.

I’ve decided to slow down. I’ve decided to be myself and to be careful with everything I take on today. I feel more fulfilled because I’m no longer running from who God created me to be. The story I’m living has a purpose and a plan, and I believe the glory of the Lord will be revealed through it.

My expectations are high, but I also feel reassured and comforted because my mind is set on God’s glory. The Lord is my strong tower. He has equipped me to live with purpose and value. He is also teaching me that I can’t hold on to everything. Some things have to be released so I can stay focused on what He is asking of me.

My purpose is to fulfill what God has placed before me. That may look different each day because we have never lived this day before. So I want to keep God’s instruction first in my mind, my heart, and my walk.

My walk is evidence of how God has been with me. It’s where my character and integrity take shape. The way I live can speak for me before I ever say a word.

My thoughts matter. The world is always trying to pull our attention in different directions. If I don’t hold on to what God says, the noise around me can take up space in my mind that I’m meant to protect. That can be easy for some people and very difficult for others. Our lives are different, and so are the things we carry.

As a mother raising two boys diagnosed with autism, I’ve learned to lean on God’s instruction. That understanding didn’t come overnight. It came through years of learning, sacrifice, and trusting Him through days I didn’t fully understand. Now I believe those years were part of the purpose and plan He had for me.

The more I understand, the more I want to humble myself to God’s will. His will belongs to Him, and I’m learning to trust it. God is love, and when people show me love, I’m reminded of Him.

If you’re raising a child diagnosed with autism, remember to seek God’s instruction daily, weekly, and throughout the year. Keep returning to it. It can carry you through the purpose and plan God has for your life. He gives us understanding as we seek Him.

So when you see my name come across your timeline, or you see my face on my page, know that I’m doing my best to follow the instruction of the Lord.
